We're reviewing our Allocations Policy and would like to hear your views on proposed changes.
The Allocations Policy explains who can join our housing register and how we decide who is offered a home. It helps ensure homes are allocated fairly, transparently and based on housing need. As part of our regular review, we've looked at customer feedback, changes in housing policy, regulatory expectations and best practice across the housing sector.
We're proposing a number of changes, including:
Making the policy easier to understand and improving information about appeals and reviews.
Reducing unnecessary reassessments for customers waiting on the housing register.
Introducing a local connection requirement for new applicants.
Improving how we work with local authority partners.
Making better use of available homes by widening access to adapted properties and increasing housing options.
Exploring measures to ensure social housing is prioritised for those with the greatest housing need.
We want to make sure any changes are fair, clear and meet the needs of our customers and communities. That's why we're asking for your feedback.
