Results and actions taken as a result of your feedback

  • Bags of rubbish outside of properties on Jane St – Neighbourhood Coordinator has noticed black plastic bags occasionally and reported these to our Grounds Maintenance team to be removed, as well as discussing the issue with the Council Area Environmental Officer as there is a high proportion of private rented properties in the area.
  • Too many private landlords in area – Neighbourhood Coordinator arranging joint walkabout with Council Anti-social behaviour officer & Environmental Officer to try and establish who ‘owners’ of private rented are.
  • Fly tipping – Reported to our Grounds Maintenance team & Sunderland City Council depending on who owns the land that is fly-tipped on
  • People don’t look after gardens – untidy gardens are picked up the Neighbourhood Coordinator on estate walks and Tenancy Warning Notices are served as well as breaches opened where necessary If no satisfactory improvement
  • Dog fouling – This has been reported to environmental enforcement
  • Drivers speeding in the area – reported to Neighbourhood Policing Team for further consideration of traffic measures
  • Condition of roads and footpaths – to be looked at on multi-agency walkabout.

As a Gentoo tenant, we want you to be proud of where you live.

Our Neighbourhood Coordinators regularly walk around our estates and inspect them for any issues that may need to be resolved such as repairs to communal areas and fly-tipping.

Please share your thoughts with us about Hetton Downs, and encourage your neighbours to do so too. Your responses will help us to identify areas for improvement and tackle any outstanding issues in your estate.
